Mr Jayanthi graduated from the prestigious Bangalore Medical College & Research Institute in India. He undertook research at University of Oxford University studying stem cells and diabetes, for which he was awarded post-graduate doctorate.
Mr Jayanthi completed specialist surgical training in the All Wales Higher Surgical Training programme and obtained further super-specialist training fellowships at world-renowned centres of excellence (CENI, Colchester, St James’ University Hospital, Leeds and Ethicon Bariatric Fellowship at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton).
Mr Jayanthi is a strong advocate of key hole surgery. He was awarded the prestigious David Dunn Travelling Scholarship by ALSGBI. As a part of this award he has travelled to Japan and India visiting world renowned surgeons. Mr Jayanthi practices a number of advanced key hole operation techniques that he learnt on these travels and has pioneered in number of techniques.
Videos of Mr Jayanthi's specialised expert keyhole operations have been presented at various national and international conferences. Mr Jayanthi is a faculty at key hole surgery courses at The Royal College of Surgeons.
